Queen's WE (QWE), formerly known as Queen's Free The Children (QFTC), is a chapter of the Canadian organization The WE Charity operating on Queen's University campus in Kingston, ON. We are an open group of students across all years and departments who share dedication, passion, and energy in promoting social change. Already funding three entire Adopt-A-Village projects and winning the 2011 Big Dreamer's award, QWE has been growing steadily since its inception in 2007.
We hold a number of unique events throughout the year to raise funds for the construction of school buildings and sustainable development projects in rural Kenya. Our fundraisers have included the Stop Poverty Cold (polar bear dip), WE Have Talent Charity Concert, WE Scare Hunger, the Valentine's Day Fair Trade Rose Sale, and our annual Model We Day Conference. We also collaborate with the WE office in Toronto to host a number of awareness events on campus, such as We Are Silent and the celebration of 'We Day'.
